You and the people in the complex had a great opportunity to view and really connect to the geese raising a brood with all their difficulties. Having this experience makes people, young and old, more concerned for conserving habitat for the various birds, mammals, insects that inhabit our earth. Your book should help young people make the connection. I commend you for your writing.

I love the story. Thank you so much for all you do for the very precious and beloved Canada geese. By all estimates, Canada geese may do more to perpetuate our life supporting biosphere than humans do. Best of luck with this book.

We are enjoying the book tremendously.

A lovely book and very educational. You did a lot of research and incorporated it well into the story. So interesting that Canada geese mate for life and can find their original nesting grounds. You did an outstanding job on this book and all you do for animals.

This book is exactly what geese need. They have such a bad rap and so many people are afraid of them for no reason. I have personally worked to rehab sick, orphaned, and injured Canada Geese back to health and have seen firsthand how amazing these birds are. They are incredibly intelligent and deserve to be treated better!

I enjoyed your story-telling. You have a gift for it. It was also informative and not just of general bird life, but also your community.

A must read! I’m blessed that I got this book—something in me knows that we’re all connected—humans and other creatures! Humans aren’t as different as we think. Every creature has an opportunity to be a parent, a friend, or sometimes, like the hawk, a threat. We all can feel alone and need comfort. Glad little Ryan had a foster family of kind people. My favorite part of the book was when little Ryan was all alone then taught himself to fly! Being along alone can sometimes bring out the best in you.

I was enchanted by your book! The love and caring you and your fellow workers showed was awesome. And learning some new things is always wonderful. I am so glad you took me on your journey.

People use the word heartwarming a lot, but this really fits the bill. Perfect book to read to start a new year. Ryan’s a lucky boy to have found himself among such caring people. We loved the photos, especially Abbey Road and we learned some things we never knew about these geese, like the name is actually Canada geese, and the amazing fact of the ability of an egg to “talk to the parents”!!! It’s easy to understand why people repeatedly forgot to swipe their badges to rush and see the goings on...so funny!!
